Planning Guides
The guides are based on my own experiences. Since 1983, I have worked as an independent information systems management consult, most of the time in the field of disaster recovery and business continuity planning. My working methods are well tried. In fact, I participated in my first disaster recovery project already in 1978, while still in IBM as the operations manger for one of the corporation's internal data centres. The guides consist of a number of detailed documents, each of the documents constitutes a template to incident management procedure or a disaster recovery plan or instruction. The administrative and technical details of plans and procedures may vary greatly from one organisation to the next. The general preventive measures and approaches used are basically the same, though. The design of these template plans reflect those similarities. We provide for you the structure and the topics of a viable business recovery action plan and the supporting plans and instructions. The documents are written in "order form" and designed as plans for an imaginary organisation, data centre, or work location. They are concrete, hands on, detailed, and to the point. To meet your organisation's special incident management or business recovery needs, you add to, alter, or delete the text in the templates.
